Summer can be one of the most challenging times of the year to dress for, especially if you work in an office or other professional setting. It seems like buildings in the summer relocate to the arctic circle and if you’re anything like me, a few minutes into sitting at your desk and you’re reaching for a cardigan or turning on that mini heater!
Then lunch time rolls around and you take a stroll downtown and with our summer heat you’re instantly sweating and frantically pulling off any layers you can. (We’ve all been there.)
Today we’re showing you 5 looks that can be worn to the office during these 95 degree South Dakota days!
1. Jump into a jumpsuit
Jumpsuits are a fabulously effortless look that will always have you prepared for any professional occasional as well as an afterwork event you may have. Jumpsuits transition perfectly from daytime to evening and are lightweight and cool enough for the summer heat.

2. Chic lightweight kimono
Kimono’s are perfect to pair with a plain t-shirt dress to add a little something special! They not only dress up an outfit but they add a little extra warmth inside but also breezy enough to keep you cool when you go outside.
3. Embrace the wide leg
Wide legged pants are very in style this summer, which is wonderful because they are the perfect option to keep you cool! Try a wide legged trouser pant paired with a simple lightweight tank for the perfectly put together office look.
4. Be bold in business shorts
Shorts aren’t just for the beach anymore. Take them to the office by finding a pair of longer chic shorts in a dressy fabric (bonus if they’re high waisted). Pair these shorts with a simple biz casual top and polish the look off with cute shoes and a darling handbag.
5. Beat the heat with a blazer
A spaghetti strap tank top may not be office appropriate but under a lightweight blazer, it can be perfect. And when you head outside, throw it over your shoulder for a summer look that will still have your arms feeling warm in the office.
We hope this blog gave you some great ideas on what to wear to the office this summer. We’d love to hear from you!
