5 Way to Brighten Up Your Winter Wardrobe

5 Way to Brighten Up Your Winter Wardrobe
Posted on

I don’t know about you, but by the time February hits, I’m officially OVER winter!

I feel as though I’ve worn everything in my closet at least a 100 times and I’m ready for an entirely new wardrobe.

Unfortunately, the South Dakota weather doesn’t always cooperate with me and bring me a new season just quite yet.

So today, I’m bringing you 5 tips on how to dress during this tricky time of year when your heart says spring, but outside its still saying winter.

Look #1
Mixed Textures

One of my favorite hacks for this time of year is pairing my favorite winter sweaters and cardigans with some newer spring dresses or skirts.

I love the mixing of textures and patterns.

This is a great time of year to experiment and try something new.

Look #2
Bold Prints

This time of year is the perfect time for tights.

Pair some fun patterned tights under a new spring dress or skirt. This is a great way to keep warm and also give you a few more weeks before you have to shave your legs.
(Anyone else guilty of this? 😂 ✋)

Look #3
Bold accessories

A great way to bring some life back to your wardrobe is by adding bold accessories to your outfit.
Take a risk with your accessories. Try adding a hat or a variety of midi rings to the mix.
This is a great way to amp up your style.

Look #4
A pop of color

Now don’t get me wrong, I love black and grey as much as the next girl (well maybe not as much as Carly 😉 ) but adding a pop of color is a great way to freshen up your winter wardrobe.
Try pairing a bright green or blue top with a pair of gray or black pants.

Look #5
Embrace Winter White

Now don’t tell your mother I’m telling you this, but you know that old fashion rule about not wearing white before memorial and after labor day? Well, I’m here to tell you to ditch that rule and embrace the white jean!
White is such a fresh color. It will be sure to return some life back into your wardrobe.
Try pairing a pair of white jeans with a neutral colored sweater and a jacket for extra warmth.
