Beating the Heat During A Summer Pregnancy

Beating the Heat During A Summer Pregnancy
Posted on

Ever since I started telling people my due date of mid August, I’ve been hearing a lot of people say, “it’s gonna be a long, hot summer.” I think people who have been there are just recalling how hot and uncomfortable their pregnancy was towards the end. Other than eating lots of chilled watermelons and sipping on frozen lemonade this summer, I’m sharing 7 outfits I’m wearing to beat the summer heat and keep me feeling stylish.

1. The Boho-inspired Mama

These lightweight kimonos are perfect for keeping cool in the summer! One of the first things I started to buy for my spring/summer wardrobe was these lightweight kimonos. I love the floral patterns, and you can style them in so many different ways. These kimonos would be great over a little tee shirt dress, but I love to wear them over a simple tank top with my favorite pair of maternity jeans and heeled sandals.

2. The Chic Mama

Another simple trend I’ve been loving for pregnancy is stripes. Stripes are an easy pattern to style and a great way to look casual and chic at the same time. This black and white striped top paired perfectly with my maternity jeans, and I added a pop of color with these adorable blood orange shoes. This outfit would look perfect finished off with some fun sunglasses and a bold red lip.

3. The Back to Basics Mama

This look is perfect for running errands around town this summer! It keeps things simple by pairing basics together. I especially loved wearing this comfy basic tee (bonus: it comes in a variety of colors!) To elevate this basic tee, I added some great accessories like the baseball hat (because who can remember the last time they washed their hair?) a cute watch, sunglasses, and a pair of simple summery sandals. The accessories take this outfit up a level, so even though you’re just rocking a tee shirt and jeans you still look chic and put together.

4. The Casual Cutie Mama

This simple summery dress will be sure to beat the heat this summer, all while showing off your adorable baby bump. This button up front will also make it a great dress to wear after baby if you plan on breastfeeding. Keep the look comfortable by pairing it with simple sandals or cute tennis shoes. I added a touch of my personal boho style by adding a floral headband.

5. The Boss Babe Mama

This is a great put together look for all those moms hustling at the office. I love this lightweight blazer, it keeps me feeling cool and had me feeling like a chic boss lady. Again I wore this top with my favorite maternity jeans and finished off the look with some simple accessories.

6. The Fabulous in Florals Mama

This is the perfect special occasion dress for the summer! I would wear this pretty dress for a fun summer date night, wedding, or baby shower. It’s lightweight and breezy. I love how it fits my baby bump, and the floral print makes me want to go to a summer concert.

7. The Poolside Mama

Sometimes the only thing you can do to beat the heat is hit the lake, the pool, or relax with a good book in a lounge chair with some frozen lemonade. This relaxed look will have you ready for a summer beach vacation or babymoon. The oversized wide brim hat will provide some much needed shade while looking chic.
