Leggings, sweaters, and cardigans...oh my! One of my favorite parts of dressing for fall is all the layering. South Dakota can get so chilly, but it's so fun that we have so many cozy materials to try during these cold months.
1. Apple Body Shape
The goal with dressing for your body shape is to show off your best assets. For apples, that is your legs! Try wearing a bold pair of distressed jeggings with a simple tank under a fun kimono.
2. Pear Body Shape
For the pear shape, our goal is to balance out the upper and lower half of the body. Add volume to the top with fun sleeves or big lapels. Play around with texture, pattern, and extra layers on top to balance out your body. On the bottom, keep it simple with a dark pair of skinny jeans or try more layering with a skirt and tights.
3. Hourglass Body Shape
Show off those amazing curves, girl! Find layering pieces that will accentuate your defined waist. Try pairing your favorite summer jumpsuit with a fitted cardigan, cropped jean jacket, or blazer. To finish off your look, add a waist belt to really accentuate your curves.
4. Rectangle Body Shape
For the rectangle body shape, we want to create curves for you. Try layering a wrap top over a simple, colored cami for a pop of color. Show off your legs with a killer pair of skinny jeans and a darling pair of boots.
5. Strawberry Body Shape
Show off your best assets: your legs! Try pairing a pencil skirt with a simple cami and an adorable duster cardigan. Finish the look off with a fabulous pair of booties!
Just because the weather is cooling off, don’t feel like you have to sacrifice fashion to stay warm. Just try layering instead!
We’d love to hear from you! What are your favorite ways to layer?
